This Sunday the Philly Inquirer ran an article about how LGBTQ+ people are buying guns to protect themselves from the bigotry and violence the incoming administration has stoked. How sad is it that in order to feel safe, they have to put money in the pockets of those who are making them unsafe?

About 15 years ago, after spending years only reading the "classics" like Bradbury, Hemingway, and Fitzgerald, I decided to read more contemporary fiction. After some research into the "best fiction" of the prior decade or so, I bought this used.
I never actually read it.
Until now.
