Ehhh... He was my assembly member, and the ties to the Duong family (aka the bribery scandal that brought down Oakland Mayor Thao) and the way they pushed out more progressive candidates for his wife to replace him in the Assembly, were meh.

The ironic thing is that the top two primaries have reliably resulted in the more centrist/conservative Dem getting elected. Schiff juiced the Republican so he would not have to square off against Porter, I think Newsom did something similar, and Feinstein beat out (the problematic) de Leon

I was at Rutgers before the recession, when we had to cut some classes and specialty sports (like fencing) to build a new football stadium. Rutgers just missed a chance at a bowl game. Such a ridiculous investment.

It's definitely a question of judgment. Nearly 20 or even just weeks of ignoring the Nazi symbol on your chest is not procrastination, that is poor judgement. Platner just might not have the judgment to be a senator!
