People used to mock hanging banners for winning the division. If the cup felt harder to win I’d maybe feel differently. But I get it’s worth celebrating, the Knicks should feel proud.

I’m all for the games having higher stakes because of the cup than they would in a cup-less December. But hanging banners for the cup feels cheap, because it just isn’t enough games to be impressive, even if the players take those games more seriously than other regular season games.

This has been by far the most disturbing thing to me about the Trump phenomenon - just how many people have been waiting to behave like this. At the ready for permission to terrorize people and communities. There has to be accountability not just for Trump but for these “goons” as you say.
