I've always been curious about how you handle the NESCAC teams that play a completely insular schedule.

This is UMass men's ice hockey erasure!!!

Can I make a counterargument: that's fun! It's fun to go to/watch a game where you don't know which team is going to win!

Quasi-relatedly, the Extra Points substack chat is still open and some guy/bot has started using it to post links to a financial conspiracy theory site

Man, Ed Cooley could have had a statue outside of the (former) Dunk. The grass isn’t always greener.

The only outfit in the state of Maine that will even try to fix it is Sears, finally after coming out five times our guy Tim said "just buy a new one." Four years old!

Is that a Bosch???? We are dealing with the same thing- it's been an 8 month odyssey. Also my wife says "we put the same knobs on our old oak cabinets!"

BU, BC, Minnesota, Michigan, etc. could always get 18 year old NHL draft picks. Now they just get more. Maine, Quinnipiac, St. Cloud State, etc. always relied on more physically mature 20-21 year olds to compete. Now they just get more of those guys. It is as it ever was, just with more talent.

Hey cool college hockey chat! One other reason that I think everyone is pretty chill about the major junior eligibility issue is that it hasn't changed the overall identity dynamics within the sport.

Didn’t Schitt’s Creek win a ton of Emmy’s?

Can I suggest adding to the "you're right/wrong" screen a percentage of correct guessers for the day? Is that an easy lift?

I think that there should be a National Championship of Suing in which the American Bar Association gives a trophy to the Division I school that has filed the most lawsuits against the NCAA, its conference, or other Division I schools in an academic year.

One thing this season has done is hammer home how absolutely miserable it is to consume the sport entirely in the context of who the playoff committee is going to select.
December 6, 2025 at 10:46 PM
I'd like to ask the thirty or so people who watched it opening day a few questions, like whether everything is okay at home.

You know it's quite a story when I had to sit and think about which of the three main characters was being referred to as a sociopath
December 1, 2025 at 9:45 PM
My hot take is that if you don’t give a fuck about the playoff, being an ACC fan is a lot more fun than the SEC’s grim march to find a way to get to Alabama-Georgia with a side of Lane Kiffin being a drama queen

Are there times where you feel like the college sports you loved is nearing a point of no return? Not in a "don't pay the kids" way, obviously. But more in a "how much of the history and joy in this can they suck out of it?" kind of way.
