“They’re eating the dogs” wasn’t some disposable silly comment of mass distraction. No. It was straight out of the fascist’s playbook. Once you dehumanize people, you can manipulate a population to believe that those people aren’t worthy; of due process, of empathy, of respect, of life itself.
