Savills board up. It’d be interesting to see what the home report says about the chimneys. No doubt something about ‘visually inspected with binoculars’ but also ‘the Surveyors accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever’. 🤔🤦‍♂️

I’ve got news for you… you can drive from Scotland to Canada in under 8 hours. Sweet.

I can recommend taking some whole blanched almonds with you, putting your phone away, and walking under, through and between trees. Forest bathing is good for the soul and almonds are good for your body.
(The phone is just a distraction from the good stuff!)

not just its quantity.

Seek them out and embrace them, then it makes the other efforts all the more worthwhile.

Whether it’s an extra bit of lovely cheesecake when you shouldn’t really, going on a ski holiday when you’ve a mortgage to pay off, or simply sitting in the shade listening to the birds instead of reducing that unread email count, these little & big things add to the <quality> of life post-cancer,

Absolutely agree with this!

But I would also add that it’s not just about ‘partaking’ in these little delicious things, it’s also about deliberately seeking them out and positively embracing them.

NESO app for the whole of Scotland right now, a nothing-special weather day with most still at work, in school, and so on. No coal or gas anywhere on the grid, and only biomass in southern Scotland creating any CO2.
Even 10 years ago they said it couldn’t be done.

Ocean sea-level was 40-60 metres higher then too, so it’ll be fun when that catches up. 🙄

To my mind (and I’m 30yrs post) pre and post cancer are very much like pre & post puberty. You are different physically, mentally and emotionally afterwards, but you’re fundamentally still the same person underneath - you’ve just evolved a bit further is all. Best to embrace it and find your happy.

…but with time you grow into the changes and they just become part of the new person you are. You behave in different ways, the physical & emotional pains fade, and family, friends and everyone else deal with the person they see in front of them, rather than who you used to be.

Sold all my shares in US companies. Cannot justify any longer why my money should support the US economy, and this president in particular. Now my holdings are UK and European, and are overweight to clean energy and defence. Voting with my feet, and investing in what I believe in.

No eclipse but agree it looks unusual - large/close moon, super-slim crescent, low winter angle/rotation, and lots of earthshine. Pretty cool!
