Well, Donald Trump is in the White House. So this Justice thing is not looking too good.

When I read David Brooks, I see a guy with center-left positions who convinced himself that he was a Republican. I can't figure out if all his friends are extremely left or extremely annoying left or if he's just a contrarian who needs to identify as something different.

I genuinely think it's likely that it was a staffer. But then the next question is "how did a staffer accidentally post a racist video?" I've never accidentally copy a racist url. They're not just floating around trying to trick ya!

That dude is so getting laid tonight.

This is not to say it's perfect. It has the same history of redlining and informal segregation that the rest of America has. But the overall vibe is very NPR Liberal.

I live in Champaign. It's a wonderful, diverse Blue AF college town that. The campus itself is also a normal left-of-center university. We just have 30,000 undergrads which includes the fuckwit Republicans which everyone else hates.

Serious Force Ghost Jamelle is very funny.

I know I'm deluded, but I honestly think I could do the steak alone. The sides seem impossible.

It's also true that Trump won after 8 years of Obama running on immigration. Roughly half the population thinks the Democratic position on immigration is open borders.

"Ah the Holocaust, a time when many people died. No one can say how many, and there is significant historical debate among reputable non-woke historians about the exact or even approximate number and which were actually part of the broader war effort which many parties were responsible for..."

I wonder whom he's gonna blame when his album tanks.

From a Bay Area native with an obscure 49er tight end jersey in his closet, who also spent 2 years in Boston, go Seahawks!

To be clear, I will vote, donate and knock on doors. But they don't need to individually attack every precinct to convince a bunch of bad faith Republican judges to just let Republicans be in charge.
January 26, 2026 at 2:51 AM
I don't think you do! I think they can sew a bunch of chaos and refuse to seat Democrats. No honest or good faith reporting or judging will take them seriously. But that doesn't mean that CBS and Supreme Court won't.

Traitor. Today, we are all Jarrett Stidham.

I'm lucky enough to have never heard his name said out loud. So I just got to call him Tony Dickpickle, Tony D'Octopus, Tony Papadopoulos, etc.

I obtaining a physical award means you're now a winner of that award, I'm gonna look in to getting an old Heisman from an estate sale.

I could say "writers lack the structured thinking to create meaningful code while coders have the requisite linguistic elegance by virtue of speaking English." But really, people think LLMs allow outsiders to make something good in other fields but not their own where they're more critical.

Coders can tell AI to make a crappy novel just as easily as writers can tell AI to make crappy code.

I am a software engineer. No software engineers I know think Claude is anything beyond a moderately useful tool.

2016: electing Trump will sharpen the contradiction and finally lead to real American Socialism
2020: America elects Biden
2024: electing Trump again will really sharpen the contradiction and finally lead to real American Socialism
2028: America elects Pete Buttigieg.

Bullshit everyone knows the process is:
1. Refuse to vote for spineless dems.
2. ?
3. We get the policies we want.

That's some beta-sounding preyspeak right there.

Murc's Law, the idea that the press treats Democrats as though they're the only ones with agency, was cooked 8 years ago for a reason.

Best branding since Trojan, named for a city that let a bunch of little men sneak out once they'd snuck past the gate.
