A new publication at NeurIPS highlights a new AI network that tries to “see” like us 👀

The EVNets improves image analysis robustness by better mimicking primary visual cortex, making the system better adapt to visual distortions in a more human-like manner.

He brought generosity and had a gift for bringing people together. Even after moving to London, Adam kept a connection to CF. He taught students, mentored scientists, and inspired those around him. In recent years, he worked to establish a foundation that would carry his vision and impact forward.

Adam was one of the investigators who helped shape the early days of the Champalimaud Centre and the Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme. He was an innovator: a scientist who built microscopes, created tools like Bonsai and Harp, and pushed the boundaries of what could be done through collaboration.

Today we honour the memory of Adam Kampff, whose passing leaves an immense void in our community.

Trazia alegria, curiosidade, generosidade, e tinha um dom extraordinário para aproximar as pessoas. Mesmo após se mudar para Londres, Adam manteve ligação à Fundação Champalimaud. Nos últimos anos, trabalhou incansavelmente para criar uma fundação que perpetuasse a sua visão e impacto.

Adam foi um dos investigadores que ajudou a moldar os primeiros dias do Centro Champalimaud e do Programa de Neurociência da Fundação Champalimaud. Foi um verdadeiro inovador: construiu microscópios, criou ferramentas como Bonsai e Harp, e ultrapassou os limites do possível com colaboração absoluta.
