Our fitness issues continue against Azerbaijan &Sweden, more rotation in defence. I also start defenders Moffat &Crainey up front vs Sweden after struggles in Baku.
They hit the target 3 times but with us falling behind I go to strikers, and Baxter finally scores his 5th for us. 1-1...

it seems like theyre fine in the db, but in game they can change.

Maybe someone on the forums has the answer. ive messed something up somewhere.

it is really fun seeing random players you forgot you added appear.
it generated an annoying problem, which is why i didnt upload it, but suppose i could. some regen first names, certainly for anglicised names, semed to default to a handful of weird ones (Erhun, Shabazz, King).

Decided if im going to have, say, Vardy, I should also have the others at Sheff Wed in 2001 who might stand in his way, &it spiralled from there. you know, someone might just not get their break because someone else did, who didnt IRL

wiki & transfermarkt mostly, going through old youth sides etc, then theres articles on some prospect who got injured &fell off, or a manager change saw them out of the 1st team setup. So tried to account for sliding doors moments by giving appropriate potentials and leaving some attributes random.

A supremely frustrating group. Given Belarus turned out to be amazing, I can only point at 1 bad result. We lost to two good teams on a good day, but mopping the floor with Latvia and drawing, which was the killer, along with Charlie Millers shock retirement at 32.

Again we're down 2 CBs, I also decide to bring Gary Teale &Shaun Maloney back, just because they happen to have scored for us in the past and we need goals.
But Belarus, Kutuzov, Hleb, are simply too good. Clinical.

So i think we can still finish 2nd, and have an outside chance of a playoff spot, having lost just once in 7.
But, we must beat Belarus, who have a +4 goal diff on us. We drew last time, so hopefully we would get the nod if we're level.
Got to win first though...

Latvia will haunt me I'm sure, but results elsewhere keep the group tight.
