Golden Dragon is an Americanized Chinese restaurant in a part of the San Gabriel Valley with few Chinese. Then Chinese started moving in so now their menu is a hodgepodge of orange chicken, lo mein, egg drop soup, beef broccoli—and Sichuan style dry pots as pictured in their window display.

Had a nice meal at Maluji Suanlafen, a new hot and sour vermicelli specialist in Rowland Heights. When I got home I saw to my horror a dozen Yelp reviews, more than half of all reviews, mention becoming violently ill after eating there. Fortunately I’m OK.

Tim Ho Wan in Irvine has reopened after being closed for a one year remodel. Actually it doesn’t look much differently but they kicked out the old management , brought in a chef from Hong Kong, and redone the menu.
