Such a sweet comment from a woman on the metro. She told me I have beautiful eyes that remind her of an actress named Melissa James. I find it funny because I’ve always found my eyes to be my dullest feature (not compliment fishing); it just took me by surprise esp since I’m wearing a mask #China

Fun fact: I have never taken an HSK exam. I got all my jobs that required Mandarin by simply speaking Chinese during the interview.

Little Puppy being encouraged to walk up an elevated surface! It took a bit, but she finally did it. Definitely a huge mental block has been tackled. She’s doing so well with her progress in week 4. So proud of her! #skydogs

Puppy rehab update! Terry sent me videos of her walking without a sling. She could even squat and get back up. 🥹
This is rehab week 5. Standing up on her own should start to happen by week 6 (according to ChatGPT vet model). #skydogs

One thing I liked about DuChinese was how they structured flashcards with not only the word/pronunciation but also with the sentence from the reading material where I initially marked the word. This made it much easier for me to memorize words. I've used this structure for my flashcards ever since.

Every time I’m even a little bit sick I pull out this bad boy out and I feel better in literally like seconds to a few hours. Has stopped me getting a full-blown cold almost every single time. I don’t even care if it’s psychological, a win is a win. #china
