Standing on the shoulders of midgets.
I was here to discuss investing, books and music, but my country is on fire.
Must say I'm surprised Havas is a spinoff entity they're particularly interested in. Does the all-knowing Graoully have any theories?

Somehow I don't imagine the Tether guys keeping this in the family for a century...

I wish they would've done this when the share price was in the upper $30s and $40s rather than $60s...

GBL still benefitting from the tenure of the son-in-law, I see...

Perhaps the concern is that the NAV growth is driven by Ferrari - which obviously will not be repeated and is not indicative of any exceptional acumen of Elkann. I know nothing - just speculating!

Neither of these guys belongs in the ring with Usyk.

“Dominated” is a dramatic overstatement. It was a very competitive fight that could have gone either way. I thought he was actually more dominant in the second fight (a non-consensus view, admittedly).

Also, I feel like Ferrari stock could drop by 50%...and still be pretty expensive.

Fair. How long can a conglomerate discount possibly persist? 😜

Even if John Elkann is an excellent capital allocator, I have always had a difficult time getting excited about this one. Separately, I was surprised to just notice that Ferrari's market cap is currently 4x Stellantis.

Excellent writeup...thank you.

The divergence in share performance between Lagardère and Avolta kills me! Seems like it is stuck with a Bolloré discount...

I’ll guess Bob Feller (but I have no real idea)

Particularly surprising to me because the company was founded by Jack Byrne, former GEICO chief who obviously has Berkshire ties.

Thank you for this. Not a familiar figure to a modern American audience (despite the many links).

Intrigued by this one...thanks for the idea!

On the watchlist. Baby steps for me...

Happy to see this. Seems like we will essentially have to wait until the court proceedings play out on the Vivendi takeover before anything significant happens.
