Truth.

Your body tenses up as her hand strokes your hair, coming to rest on the collar. "This is your choice to make. If you take off the collar, you will awaken as your old self." Her hand moves down and lifts your face to meet her gaze, "or heel like a good dog, and discover your true self."

Moving your hair aside, her fingers glide around your neck. The cool, stiff collar awakens you to a brief moment of clarity.

"What am I doing? Why did I come here?" The words try to form in your mouth, but only come out as a whimper.

"There there, it's ok," the woman says in a soothing voice.

Reminds me of the last time Lana came to visit. Coming home from work, and her meeting me at the door wiggling her butt like a good girl. Makes me smile every time I think about it.

"Oh, don't you look precious," she says, as she sets a dish on the floor in front of you. Overwhelmed with thirst, you put your face down to the water, lapping it up as quickly as you can.

You feel her above you, stroking you from head to tail. "Such a good pup. You'll fit in quite well here."

*vrrrp* You drop out of the seat onto your hands and knees at the noise. Slightly dazed, you see the woman has returned to where she was before she left.

The room is filled with the sounds of nature: birds chirping, leaves rustling in the wind. You sit up, raising your paws as she turns to you.

Imma squish you so hard.

Your eyes are so pretty when they roll back, and your face goes slack.

I need that. I miss playing with your hair. 🩷
