A short film creepypasta that terrifies me. It is so simple, yet it makes me very, very uneasy. It's also the proof that horror doesn't need 2h-long movies to be effective. Comedy & horror are sisters and if short jokes are always the best, short frights might be too.

A lot of the short horror films I've watched are built, one way or another, on a terrifying twist that often occurs on screen as a jumpscare. Oscar's Bell (Chris Cronin) is a bit different. It feels more like a dark tale, a somber atmosphere. Also there's a dog.

Another feature film that was a short first, Mama by Andy Muschietti, better known today for the It franchise. The feature has some fine moments, but the short film is much more effective imo.

Have you seen Lights Out? The 2016 movie was originally a short film, and I gotta say, the concept works far better for a short than a long. Universal fear of the dark + dramatic lighting effect = banger!
