Großstadt bei Schnee und Eis zeigt wie fast autofreie Städte und Tempo 30 sehr gut funktionieren können. Zumindest erst mal am Wochenende.

Analyzing some data through EarthEngine, showing change in surface temp from [2000,2005] to [2019,2024] in #Modis Data in #leipzig
Contrary to what is expected, most warming seems to be in the surrounding of the city. Either due to land use changes or to something I am missing in the data.

Does anybody know why there is such a huge difference in the footprint of solar cells on roofs in the infradred camera data? I can imagine different directions, but these are all oriented the same.
Maybe on/off during a sunny day?

Visualizing the infrared data is really really fun though.

A parking lot on a hot day:

Like for example a "hot" roof of a small hut that is NOT in a white colour and standing in the midst of otherwise unremarkable green shrubbery

The 20cm DOM point cloud data has infrared data and I am not sure that the Vermessungsamt Sachsen Anhalt is ready to discuss the privacy implications here
