Same. I hated the huge empty spaces in the ship that made zero sense. And I wish they’d been more of an ensemble - we didn’t really get to know Mr. Rhys until the very end. Such a shame.

I kinda wish the socials would kill monetization but there are too many good guys that would suffer. I’d love to see the anti-fans be starved of oxygen.

It will have something for everyone. Prodigy wasn’t for us either but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I am stoked to catch up with The Doctor.

I hear you too. It’s further complicated by the Wheedon yeesh/ick factor

In any case, it was a well written article.

Plus to get technical:
Yes it would be creepy if an actual 226 year old human man…but…

Angel was turned at 26. At the time, it was common to marry much younger. Duration of an immortal being’s existence doesn’t translate to biological age.

Spike didn’t fall for Buffy until she was in college.

Will this be one of the interchangeable heads?

What’s hard to reconcile for me is that I feel sure that there aren’t MAGAts in the writers room, and one would think that they’d have tons of people who would catch it when they screw up, but clearly there are people who think they messed up.

That’s something I hadn’t considered. To me that accusation was a clumsy attempt to challenge Uhura’s perspective on what Starfleet was. Maybe it landed badly.
September 1, 2025 at 12:48 AM
Yeah I get that too. My wife and I introduced my daughters to it officially with the launch of DISCO (even though they’d seen countless reruns lol), and it’s been something we’ve enjoyed together (except for Section 31). When it sucks, it stings a little.

…other than a couple of Evil Admirals, Starfleet hasn’t demonstrated that they pursue war for its own sake or based on politics. So on this one, I don’t align but welcome your POV to learn more.
September 1, 2025 at 12:43 AM
One place that I do differ from your POV is on the pro-military assertion. What I carried away from “What is Starfleet?” on this topic is no different than what I’ve taken from historic Trek - violence as a last resort, and only as much as needed to end conflict…

…but the Israeli/Palestinian one is fresh and seems to apply. Knowing who writes for this show and their track record makes me think this isn’t what they were going for, but I won’t say you’re wrong.
September 1, 2025 at 12:38 AM
I will give you that they dug a bit of their own grave with this last one - genes somehow making them all act like Vulcans with decades of logical discipline etc. Really dumb and prone to interpretation.

This is a rough one - one could compare to any number of lopsided armed conflicts…

Help me see the right wing propaganda you’re referring to. This is a legit curious question.

I love each for different reasons. Different styles and kinda different film subgenres.

Some people seem to forget how gonzo TOS could be. And they don’t know to have fun. Way too much pearl-clutching, way too many people who think they could do better. Keep making this show the way you’re making it.

I’m setting off fireworks. I’ll likely not make it back from the cul-de-sac alive (I live in north Texas), but I’ll die laughing.

Go download your statements people. Now.

Same! I didn’t watch TOS until after seeing 2&3.

He’s going to try. His administration loves to live in the gray areas. One Constitutional crisis after another.

Uh oh watch out for “professional protestors” lol.

Those look like pretty real to me. Good for them. Keep turning up the heat on these asshats in charge.
