*impeachment, removal, conviction for treason specifically is some kind of superimpeachment

Right, but the crazy premise of the original post was that impeachment, removal, conviction is some kind of superimpeachment that wipes out the whole admin.

That + character limit is why I only mentioned treason.

There are 2 different interpretations here. The OP is saying "If the president is impeached and removed for treason, then the VP, et al are automatically removed." Not the case.

The correct interpretation is that each can be removed individually through conviction after impeachment for treason.

No this implies that each office holder, if impeached for treason, can be removed from office.
So each one would have to be impeached separately for treason.

The photo is of a piece of scrip from the Ravensbruck women's concentration camp. It belonged to my late grandfather who was a U.S. Infantryman in WWII. I don't know how he got it, since Ravensbruck was in the East, and was liberated by the Soviets.

But it is necessary to say "never again," even if we know we have failed, to renew a commitment to eradicating not only the horrific expressions of hatred that is genocide, but also to combat the conditions which lead to genocide, totalitarianism, and fascism.

It is difficult to say "never again," after genocide has happened again, in every single succeeding decade. None of them plumb the depths of the Shoah, but they also show us we are not so civilized as we would like to think.

The Holocaust was not only a uniquely evil expression of the darker aspects of human and social nature, but was a result of a politics which allowed people to see others as less than human.

To address this, we must confront past totalitarianism and see where it is reflected in our present political lives. Not only where it breaches the surface as genocide, repression, or war, but also its subterranean elements - politics based in discourses of ignorance, greed, fear

I still think that. But I also think that many of the critical prerequisites for that kind of informed and meaningful participation are under attack throughout the "developed" or western world.

In undergrad, I studied democratization and totalitarianism. In order to achieve the highest and best form of government -- one that allows all people meaningful participation in decisions that will shape their lives -- I thought you also had to understand its opposite.

Fine here,

The Bears scored a touchdown on this play

one of those where you show a still of Caleb Williams facing backwards at the 35 and say "The Bears scored a touchdown on this play"

Perhaps more mind-blowing (or maybe not), the current SCOTUS had the opportunity to overrule these nakedly racist rulings and set Puerto Rico and the other so-called "unincorporated territories" on a more equal footing with the rest of the US, but refused.

The Supreme Court rules that cruel laws must still be enforced
The Court’s decision is a tremendous, if not unexpected, blow to poor Puerto Ricans.
