Russia has been losing tanks at a rate of about 3 a day throughout 2025. They’ve been able to keep this up because of an enormous stockpile of retired hulls. Looks like that stockpile is starting to run out at last.

◾️1656 are in "poor" condition (about 60% of them probably cannot be restored).
◾️1231 Russian tanks are in "worse" condition, according to the researchers.

Over 30% of casualties are KIA. Throw in MIA (which are likely KIA), and it’s around 40%. That’s for 2025, but if it extrapolates to the whole war, that puts Russian dead at around 450K. That’s more than all US dead in WWII.

The Ukrainian project I_Want_To_Live has published a photo of a document with Russian losses over 8 months, from January to September 2025. According to it, total KIA numbers 86,744, roughly 10,843 per month, which is very close to our earlier estimates. Total losses are 281,550
