I’ve not been very “social” lately, but am back here now to announce that a week today ie Fri 25th sees the first gig I’ll have played with the Actual Band since our triumphant CroCroLand festival set - also my first at London’s legendary George Tavern since about 2008! wegottickets.com/event/660954

Finally went back in the studio with the Actual Band, to lay down backing tracks for three new songs. Finally! These won’t be mixed for a while, but some totally solo lowkey acoustic(ish) demos of other songs may appear first….

Realised after my gig on 30th Dec that I’ve now done 50 gigs as Charley Stone (with or without the Actual Band) - and so far I have managed to play a different set every time! And I just got booked for another one, to be announced tomorrow at midday.

#duvetknowitschristmas My Mum is moving in Jan and has already boxed up pretty much the entire house, so I’m on a camp bed borrowed from a neighbour. The curtains were also boxed up “so I bought one from a charity shop - but when I got it home it turned out to be a tablecloth”

Apparently I’m a Top 5 artist on Sp*tify for about 11 people - however I think most of them have already played in my band! Also I think most people who like my album supported it on Bandcamp instead and I’m v grateful for that. A few have even bought a “Christmas bundle” to gift to someone else!
Here Comes The Actual Band CD and sticker plus Merry Christmas Actually greeting card, displayed on a background made of AAA passes. The artwork on the items comprises naive b&w line drawings.

It strikes me, that today being the 27th of November, it is now the six month anniversary of the release of these 10 songs, in the form of Here Comes The Actual Band. A few original artefacts still left! Snap them up before it achieves cult status on a “Best 100 Debut Albums” list or similar.

About 5 months after the release of Here Comes The Actual Band, I decided to make a mini-zine of the lyrics. Will it work, or will I give up when I can’t figure out a cheap/good way to reproduce it? Who can say..?
A tiny mini-zine prototype lies folded on a mostly blank sheet of A4, which has been ruled into “pages”, a few of which have handwritten lyrics on them. A pen, a pencil and a pair of scissors are lined up diagonally alongside the prototype mini-zine, which features the b&w line drawing cover art from Charley Stone’s album Here Comes The Actual Band

The sold out Sassyhiya album launch at The Cav in south London was so, so wonderful. Boat Called Predator is currently my single of the year and Helen is at least as cool as Kim Deal. Check them out! V chuffed to have played on this bill with them and my other band crush @panicpocket.bsky.social.

Went on tour with Art Brut by accident. Well, what I mean is, they had an emergency last Saturday night, so I jumped in the van with them Sunday morning and learned the set on the way to Brighton. Then Margate, Manchester, Leeds. It was an intense, exhilarating adventure! What a band!
