Just had this ad served to me on insta. As someone who went to high school in 90s America where not selling out and alt music was the thing, this would have enraged my fellow teens at the time.

In case you missed it @newsagents.bsky.social has a brand new website. Since the start of the podcast the aim has always been for it to be a 360 news brand that does video and articles with a podcast at its core. This is another key step in that direction.

Was in Paris recently and stumbled across this used bookshop/coffee shop. Few things set my pulse racing more than big bookshelves.

I don't think this is celebrated enough about Andor but Kathryn Hunter as Syril's mum is just the most incredible character. It's like watching Philip Roth playing out in space and the only force on display is the power of passive aggression.

One unexpected discovery over the past year is Dua Lipa’s book club that she runs via Service95. I’m not aware of many pop stars promoting books by writers like Olga Tokarczuk. And she’s sporting a Fitzcarraldo edition for this month’s pick.

Interesting demographic data on social platforms. Yes, it supports very obvious assumptions we all have. But it does underline how the platforms preferred by news gathers/politicians, etc., are not the ones used by average consumers. The potential for disconnect between the two is very evident.

Update: minus a leak from the bottom when transferring to a cooling rack, it was a success. Plus, I found the feve. I promise to be a fair king this year.
