All over. 2-0 Arsenal. Routine win.

Arsenal hit top spot in the Premier League, albeit maybe only for a couple of hours.

Rice has what looks like a back issue, replaced by Merino. Martinelli on for Eze.
charleswatts.bsky.social
Nwaneri and MLS on for Trossard and Calafiori.

GOAL!

2-0

Emphatic Saka penalty.

H/T: 1-0 Arsenal

Dominant 45 minutes from the hosts, who deservedly lead through Declan Rice's goal against his former club. Eze and Timber have had decent chances, while Saka has had a goal ruled out for offside and Calafiori has hit the post.

The one big blow is losing Odegaard to injury, again.

Finally the pressure tells. Lovely pass from Zubimendi to play in Eze. His shot is saved well, but Rice does well to keep the follow up down and find the net.

1-0 Arsenal. Deserved lead.

And Odegaard is going off again before half-time, for the third successive league game at the Emirates. Zubimemdi coming on.

Honestly, what are the chances?
charleswatts.bsky.social
Yeah, well offside.

Saka has the ball in the net, but flag is up.

He's back up. Going to try and come back on.

Odegaard down, issue with his knee. Tried to carry on, but he's just booted the ball out of play himself and called for the medical staff.

Well, it feels like Arsenal have had more chances in these first 13 minutes than they've had in their last two home games against West Ham combined, so there's already an improvement.

Scramble in the box, Eze puts the loose ball over from close range.

Timber has an early shot saved.

Looking forward to seeing how this midfield works. Could be fun.

All over. 2-0 Arsenal.

Should have been a far more comfortable scoreline with the chances the home side created, but it's two wins from two to start the Champions League campaign for Mikel Arteta's side.

Martinelli and Saka with the goals. Odegaard excellent.

Lovely pass from Odegaard, Saka's shot squeezes through the keeper's legs.

2-0 Saka.

And breathe.....
charleswatts.bsky.social
How has that not gone in? Somehow the keeper saves from Odegaard after a brilliant Arsenal break. The follow up is then blocked by the defender from point blank range.

Mosquera on for Gabriel. Gabriel had been down having treatment after Raya landed on top of him when claiming a cross a few minutes earlier.
