Into classic motorbikes, classic cars, Kate Bush, LFC, The Smiths, indie, 1960/70s/80s US cinema, The Beatles, and dogs. Proud dad of beautiful daughters. Hates Brexit, Farage, Johnson, Truss, Trump, Putin etc, but mostly hates Galway Girl by Ed Sheeran.
Entirely possible.

Using some bampot columnist in the Telegraph to illustrate an argument proves nothing, Niall. It hasn't been a serious news source for years and represents no more than 10-15% of popular opinion. Trump is as unpopular here as he is in the EU.

I don't disagree with your evaluation of our politicians and the short-term profiteering by the city, but you're opening a whole new discussion there. Namely, our inadequate voting system and the democratic deficit of allowing "Frankfurt" to decide our economy. A tough sell to any electorate.

I personally despise the stupidity of Brexit, and have no real problems joining the Euro, but there is a lot to be said for the flexibility of having your own currency, rather than "one-size-fits-all" currency geared to a disparate set of nations, each with differing economies and circumstances.

I'm assuming your first trip to the US was about 40 years ago, when Sterling was effectively a petrocurrency and was overvalued. I remember a trip to Canada in 1980 when we got a lot of CAN$ per pound.

UK Exports were really struggling at the time. Be careful what you wish for.

There is no way anybody in the UK public, nor I imagine the EU or Canada, would support the US in a war started by Trump. He has already effectively killed NATO, and the sooner the politicians realise that and construct an alternative, the better.

Glitter is like radiation. It passes through walls. I remember recoiling in fear as my then 6 year old daughter got into the car with some glitter-covered thing she'd made in school.

People were still pointing out the glitter on my face months later. I should have scrapped the car.

Great. Let's hope for a result.

I'll personally settle for up to 8 minutes of pedestrian play before we concede the first from either a set piece or another Konate howler. To be honest though, the odds on that are quite long and my optimism is probably misplaced.

Thank God for Brexit. Stopping them damn forriners from dictating and controlling how many times an honest, freeborn Englishman farts.

I hope Nigel will find time between panicking over racism allegations to bring this up in Parliament. If he ever goes there, that is.

🤔 Imagine having writers with differering opinions? It's almost as if it's a magazine or something.

Looks like Trumps new bessie mate allies in the Kremlin are happy then. Sickening.

Cheers Russ, I'll give it a try.

Tick or not. Her brain was removed years ago.

"roughly the time that the TV filled up with more interesting things to watch."

So, basically, anything at all.

What a clearance by Chiesa!

I find it really depressing that people like you and Nail fail to understand how our voting system works. Criticise the government by all means, but stop blaming the rest of us for a situation entirely outside our control. What's worse is FPTP is likely to produce an even more idiotic result in 2029
November 30, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Surprise, surprise, Gyles, but a huge majority of us knew Johnson was a lying, corrupt twat. However, our voting system is a great big pile of stupid, and he got elected with 100% power despite a minority vote even against an incredibly unpopular Corbyn.
November 30, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Leaving aside Dark Side of the Moon and Revolver, both far after third and both classics far from shite, you then mentioned megabore Van Morrison. You're not a serious person 😄.

But to be fair, everyone has different taste. Yours are just mad though.

We're down but not out, Tony. Still fancy us to win the 21st title and another European trophy before your lot do.

Although, to be fair, I've been wrong in the past.

They've got to invade Canada first. I wish I was joking.
November 22, 2025 at 12:20 AM
Not fair on Chamberlain, who at least bought time to prepare. Trump rolled over for a couple of bad taste Trump Hotels in St. Petersburg and Moscow by selling out the Ukranians. Shameful and craven doesn't even come close. A new low for humanity.

History will be harsh judging the USA.
