The paper finds that aid does influence rhetoric, but only on the particularly contentious dimension of whether terrorism has "root causes", a result that speaks to questions of legitimacy and political violence in world politics.

"The Co-Evolution of Conflict Aid and Terrorism Rhetoric" examines whether receiving foreign aid leads recipients to change their rhetoric on terrorism, using computational text analysis of UN General Assembly speeches and longitudinal network models.
