I've seen it most successful in fact-checking automatic translation; tagging 3D objects based on render to integrate into function calling systems; tagging data points and discovering new points to check for, etc.

I do also think both of these claims are selective.
People are okay with using LLM chatbots for their slopversations where they inquire about their zodiac or whatever because it's free. These will likely continue being free, either ultra cheap to run or just run on-device.

It doesn't matter to me if Google justifies their moneydump, I can run a very solid LLM they open sourced locally at like 400mb of VRAM. I'm not paying $80/mo for that, that's certain.

Yeah I'm just wondering why Europeans pay most for everything.. We make about half of what Americans do, it's just that our cost of living is about a quarter.
Less mad about this, because there isn't a price I wouldn't pay, but it's pretty upsetting to pay a $10-20 markup on other titles.
