4/ this past year as it's been an interesting one. I feel like I've spent the whole year chasing my tail, and I hate that feeling. Here's hoping 2026 sees fewer medical issues and personal emergencies, and me less frantic to meet deadlines with more time to read queries and submissions!

4/...from me in the next several days, please-please-please know that in almost every case, the pass has nothing to do with your writing and everything to do with it either not fitting what I need for my list, or me not being "obsessed." And you shouldn't fault yourself for my lack of obsession.

3/...so full that I'm having to be hyper-selective in what I take on...which means the the writing has to be spectacular, the project a good fit for my list, and--most important--I have to be literally OBSESSED with it. And sadly, that last pre-rec is the hardest to meet.
