That's what happened here too! Did some garlic spinach, hand cut ham and Gruyère (or Cheddar) with garlic mushrooms and kale on the side ... And there was batter left so fruit, yoghurt and shaved chocolate followed..... What a fab day.

I also wanted to say what a well written and constructive set of replies others made in this thread. My trigger was that why is the article focussing on the method of light generation e.g. LED rather than the poor lighting design. As others have said, diffusers, lenses and placement all contribute.

Methinks it's yet another pro-pollution article. Written to increase resentment of energy saving or practical methods to reduce carbon emissions. BBC quite frequently publishing articles that raise fear, uncertainty and doubt. You are of course quite correct.
