I remember reading about this on The Register when it was announced. Speculation in the comments at the time was that it was a knockoff chinese android phone, some of which were recalled by T-mobile in the UK a few years back....be on form if it was those rejects being sold to the MAGA wingnuts.

Yeah, that's definitely one of the minuses of Ubuntu. I'm also not massively keen on the way the terminal sometimes forces a snap install when you use an apt command. I do like the customised GNOME UI though. We use server 22.04 at work for products and it's impressively robust. :)

Admittedly I'm still learning how some of the stuff works, but in my playing around with Mint and Ubuntu I've found Snaps to generally be a bit more user-friendly than Flatpaks - they need less config to get things like drag and drop across programs working.

I'll admit I was pretty curious what you made of it. Dad runs a 2022 model which I believe is pre-facelift compared to this one.
His is also the mild hybrid but with a 7 speed dual-clutch auto, feels like it suits the car well. Ride is still a touch jiggly though despite not being the sporty model.
