I hate the term “jab” which is used in the UK as the most common alternative to shot, vaccination or whatever. It just sounds vulgar and derogatory. I have not seen it used here in the US, but that may be because I avoid antivaxxers like the plague that they are.

For years I have looked at Canada, Australia and New Zealand which all have universal health care and no Second Amendment, and thought “that could have been us”. Just think: no Civil War, Reconstruction, Jim Crow etc etc.

How sad that, with five children and several grandchildren, he has not spent the day celebrating Christmas with family.

I retired from practicing medicine several years ago. Please believe me when I say health care providers loathe insurance companies and bloated hospital administrations. Universal health care is strongly referred by most people doing actual patient care.

The major obstacle to universal health care is insurance companies. They will do anything to protect their cash cow. Entrenched as they are, cutting them out will be very difficult. The claims processors can work for the gov’t but the rest would be out of work. And the shareholders would lose too.

Having read through your recent posts on health care and the replies, obviously most responses disagree with you but I have seen very little “hate”. Unless chiding and criticizing you for your belief that we can’t have universal health care like other western countries is what you feel is hate.
