I’ve been out and in an unusual course of events have taken some drink. It was the youngest’s 30th so that’ll be my excuse. There was a massive glitter ball.

All more or less sorted. I’m going out for lunch now, because I definitely deserve it.

A very large dinosaur egg full of dinosaur things has been purchased for the grandson who turns five today. I’m hoping he’ll be delighted and tell me the names of each one as he takes them out of their egg

Two meals from the recent Australian road-trip with a high and a low (although the low wasn’t actually that bad, just not what I wanted for dinner)
Salmon, avocado and and salsa stack from a tiny place in Woollongong in the first day of my road trip in Australia. Perfect start to an excellent week. The low point on my Australian road trip where there was nowhere open so I had fresh mango, a banana and a mini caramel Twix for for my dinner (not shown but also a glass of wine and packet of crisps)

Good morning. Grey and murky skies outside. I’ve a busy day ahead, but as always, it’s time for a nice cup of tea.

It would have been my Dad’s birthday today, so I shall be thinking of him and how we tried to set him alight one year.

Earlier I tucked into this bad boy. Wow was it delicious.
An onion sliced almost through and battered then deep fried opening like a Lotus Flower, served with an aioli dip. It was heavenly.

Last breakfast with Aus daughter this trip and we went out in style with massive pancakes. Should have shared one portion because neither of us could eat more than half!
Two stacks of pancakes, one with strawberries, bananas, chocolate sauce and ice cream drizzled with maple syrup and the other stacked with apple compote, crumble mix, drizzled with maple syrup and topped with a ball of ice cream. Neither of us finished our stack. Two drinks a cappuccino in the foreground with a generous sprinkle of chocolate served in a large grey cup with saucer. In the saucer a little crunchy biscuit. Behind a mixed fruit juice topped with a slice of lemon and a strawberry. We finished these.

Today I’ve been visiting the ancestor who’s buried somewhere around this building. Also experienced a 12° temperature drop, thunder & lightning with no coat and a summer dress. It was all going on today.
Goulburn Court House a Victorian style building with a copper dome. In front are yellow roses which are going over and the sky is very blue. This is where an errant ancestor was hanged & buried only for that to cause problems 150 years later during some building work when the bones couldn’t be found. A suggestion of a stop off in Bowral would have been excellent had it not been for the thunder & lightning. What I saw looked excellent. The image shows torrential rain dripping off orange parasols keeping me & the tables dry.

A visit to Sydney Zoo to catch up on some Australian wildlife.
A chunky koala sits in a tree. Koalas have quite a good life consisting mainly of sleeping, eating and sex. There are worse ways to live Australian Green Tree Frog stuck to a glass wall. Three Little Penguins prepare to dive into the water. They look way bigger in this picture, in real life they are quite tiny.

An unmade road in Toorloo Arms, Victoria. Driving through a forest in the middle of nowhere when the sat nav did the dirty on me and took me off the main road and on a totally unnecessary detour for about 20 minutes with no phone signal

#parkrun with a hill this morning 3 internationals now at 3 Australian parkrun. Today #RouseHill

Greys skies overhead but plenty of warmth and smiles from volunteers & runners alike (apart from one person who wanted to have a philosophical chat part way round and told me when I answered how did I see myself in a positive way that I was in fact in a cage, that was an unexpected interaction)

The 4.45am start was in fact totally worth it. Dawn walk at Kata Tjuṯa
Sun rising behind me and glowing on the red sandstone of Kata Tjuṯa. Absolutely glorious colours and seven million flies. Definitely awe inspiring. Water erosion marks in Walpa Gorge part of Kata Tjuṯa. One side of the gorge is pock marked with holes & the other less so. Above blue skies Leaving Walpa Gorge one half totally in shadow the other in full sun. This would not have been the place to be at midday with the sun beating down. It looks so remote other than the row of shadows at the bottom of the picture all taking the same view.

Good morning / afternoon as I find myself in a different time zone. It’s very hot .. and I’ve had to change to peppermint tea. The view is very Australian. 5G signal is good too.

Melbourne you had big buildings
View around Collins Street Precinct up the road with tall buildings on each side. Lots of glass on show Over the Southern Cross railway station. A walking bridge in the foreground and more tall buildings behind A different view at Southern Cross. There’s so many tall penis like buildings it feels like a lot of pent up lust went into Melbourne. Newquay Promenade in the evening sunlight made the building appear to be shades of purples and blues (more tall, glass etc etc)
