This week Year 2 have exchanged cards with the Year 2 children at our local Jewish school. We wished them a ‘Happy Hanukkah’ and they wished us a ‘Merry Christmas.’ We loved giving and receiving cards!

Jolabokaflod has arrived at school again! The children have had a wonderful time getting cosy with their blankets and cushions and reading with friends . We have ‘flooded’ our school with beautiful books and it has been a lovely calm moment in all the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Try it at home!

There has been lots of excitement around school as Zippety the book elf has been popping up in different classes over the last two weeks. He has brought us all a lovely Christmas book and really enjoyed lots of cuddles and stories with the children. See you again next year, Zippety! 📚💕

Thankyou to Greater Manchester Police who led an exciting session today with our mini police officers. The children learnt some more about what the police do and got first hand experience of using a range of equipment such as hand cuffs and protective clothing 👍

In Science, Year 2 have been trying out different types of exercises to see which parts of the body they help. Our conclusion? Taking part in lots of different activities is the best way to keep our bodies- and our minds- healthy!

The Reading Champions had an exciting task today. They visited the Book Bus to choose new books for every class, as well as lots of new titles for the library. The children were very thoughtful about what they chose and knew exactly the kinds of books they wanted for our school #readingforpleasure

Year 2 Eco warriors were busy at lunch time today collecting rubbish that had blown on to the school field. They used the litter-pickers and worked brilliantly together, sharing the equipment and taking turns.
