One reason I like Brianna is that she understands where are these arguments work and where they cross lines. She's a good spokesperson because all she wants to do is be left alone to live her life as she wants to. The community would be wise to listen to her.

Listen, believe it or not (I honestly don't care) I am a scientist and a liberal who has trans people in my life who I love dearly. I'm trying to help you understand your position on the spectrum of extremity. I'm not your enemy.

What an adult chooses to do there to their body is up to them. Letting a confused child cut off their breasts is mutilation.

European nations have stopped performing these procedures and the Cass report documents ineffectiveness. I will not argue back and forth about whether or not these studies are valid. It doesn't matter. I'm trying to explain to you that you are in a small minority that has not proven it's case.

We all know girls that have been abused by men or feel uncomfortable during puberty or are autistic or love anime boys, or some combination of those things who have made their parents life hell until they are allowed to mutilate their bodies. Its not right.

Nothing you are saying is new. Everybody has heard that argument before, and clearly, it has been ineffective. Our party is the party of "believe the science" on everything but this, and we lost credibility. And again, people have dealt with this issue for a long time by transitioning as adults.

So to summarize, the adults in the room presented an option that is not safe for children and now must keep providing that option forever because of, feelings? There is no evidence that suggests the positive outcomes outweigh the negative.

You need to understand that for the average person the rape of one individual woman by a trans woman in prison is far too many and that is where people's sensitivities lie.

But you are being hyperbolic and that is the problem with the discussion. Child transition is a a relatively new phenomenon. Ask anyone in their 40s 50s or 60s whether they knew anyone from their childhood that killed themselves because of gender dysphoria. It just didn't happen.

I'm suggesting that the so-called treatment is unproven and has been scaled back in nations where they had been used for a lot longer because the negative effects outweighed the positive impacts.

I've seen a variety of stats, but there are some pre-op trans women in womens prisons, and there have been assaults and pregnancies. So the question becomes whose safety gets prioritized. Is it ok for a handful of incarcerated women to get raped? Or does the trans person need to adjust?

You mentioned quite a few things there. The majority of people don't think youth gender transition is a favorable treatment. I also think you'd be hard-pressed to find a lot of people who think that trans women belong in women's prisons, especially pre-op.

This just isn't true for the vast majority of people who tend to push back on issues like women's sports and locker rooms. I fall into the category of people who want the trans people in their lives to live their best life but find non-binary, pronouns and bearded trans women too be too much.
