It's really nice to see more Final Fantasy games on GOG. For those who already have FFIX on Steam, though, it can be made DRM-free there, as well: Just create a steam_appid.txt file containing the number 377840 in the same folder as the executable.

Welp, that's disappointing.
January 29, 2026 at 8:30 PM
Just saw this, unfortunately.

It was apparently said on an official Disney FAQ that they were Switch/2 exclusives, but that FAQ was taken down, so maybe they decided to *not* screw over their existing customers?

If they get rid of the asinine Square Enix account DRM that the original release has, then I'm all for it. I hope mods still generally work with this version.
January 29, 2026 at 7:18 PM
This is exactly what I came here to say. If this doesn't require a Square Enix account and you can still get old mods working, then this is nothing but a positive thing.

Pretty bummed that the new titles are only going to be included on the Switch and Switch 2 versions, and past releases aren't going to get updated.
January 29, 2026 at 3:18 PM
It still has Denuvo, so I'm still passing, optimization or not.

I've been absolutely loving this game on the PC this past week. Definitely recommend if you like Metroidvanias.
January 27, 2026 at 5:13 AM
This is still probably the best controller I've ever used on any platform. It's nearly perfect.
January 23, 2026 at 10:39 PM
If only Capcom would stop using Denuvo in everything and realize that DRM isn't needed to sell games as long as they're good.
January 23, 2026 at 4:03 PM
Well, dang.
January 22, 2026 at 8:34 PM
Does the new content work on the Switch 1?
January 22, 2026 at 7:41 PM
I'd be all over this if they'd remove Denuvo from Just Cause 4, the way they recently did with 3.
January 21, 2026 at 8:58 PM
Now all I need to hear is that this isn't essentially an online-only game the way Hitman is, and I'll buy it day one.
January 16, 2026 at 1:56 PM
Oh, okay, you mean like an extended, separate release. Yeah, that I can see them doing.
January 15, 2026 at 11:03 PM
What would be in a complete edition? This game didn't have any story DLC, or is that still expected in the future?
January 15, 2026 at 9:31 PM
Still my favorite flavor of Linux out of the few that I've tried. It just works, and it looks great.
January 15, 2026 at 12:37 AM
Oh my God, I hadn't even realized that this had Denuvo. Talk about extra pointless.
January 13, 2026 at 10:06 PM
I'll gladly buy this after Denuvo is gone now that Bandai Namco has gone back to using it, for whatever stupid reason.

30 years of Animorphs. I think I just heard my back make a disconcerting sound.

Nvidia is actually slowly restoring PhysX support in the 50 series, and Mirror's Edge is one of the ones that works again.
