Honestly, the way he anthropomorphizes AI is one of the clearest signals to any thinking person what a fucking idiot he is rather than some savant. 1) he doesn’t have domain knowledge and 2) he prognosticates as if he had all the domain knowledge and then some.

There are a few possibilities with this. It could be normal shuffling. It could be intentional shuffling as a strategic signal. It could be an actual strike with multiple takeoffs to disguise the eventual attack vector onto the facility. I think it’s the second one.

Term limits just empower unelected staff. Read up on Nevada’s experience.

Yes 11 mil is about 4.3% of the population.

It’s a lit review you dumbass. Of course there’s not direct evidence presented. You don’t even have the reading comprehension to understand studies so why ask for them as citations?

Pretty sure in this day and age, you’re the product even if you pay. They sell the audience to advertisers as much as they do the content, right?

Also, they haven’t worked for the public since they fired the public editor in 2017.

Military parades can get out of pocket. Anwar Sadat learned that the hard way.

Astroturfing non-partisan optics makes the regime look like the ones with the real America-loving Americans who don’t really care about politics but (insert Hank Hill about to cry) just love the country SO MUCH, unlike the opponents they want to cast as dangerous, foreign, unnatural, “fake”.

My main critique of billionaire philanthropy specifically is that it creates a concentration of resources within the non-profit sphere that mirrors industrial concentration. The problem with effective altruism and similar worldviews is that it’s ultimately egotistical.

Donating the money is still altruistic relative to keeping it locked behind a web of family trusts in fucking South Dakota and letting your kids live off it for X generations while it gains interest and grows another branch on the tree of oligarchy. Nuance is hard.

You can appreciate that he’s doing/has done this AND critique the existence of such exorbitant wealth. You can critique him doing this AND accept that it might come from a genuinely altruistic place in his POV.

I think a better critique of this rather than “billionaire bad” and “he’s just writing this off for taxes” would be “concentrated wealth donated by billionaires leads to a concentration of wealth held by fewer foundations as opposed to many.” One person’s vision of pub health, edu predominates.

Aren’t we slaves to it being purposeless? That’s my reading of absurdism.

Anyone knowledgeable about the process of modern Russia becoming what it is or Hungary becoming what it is sees what they are doing. And a certain proportion of MAGA thinks they’ll be “Thieves in Law” or “Made Men” rather than pawns of the mafia state.

It’s not the left using phony declarations that a State of Exception necessitates ignoring due process rights. That’s the right.
