Two more sleeps til I pick up my new baby. Still haven’t decided on a name. I wonder if I’ll do what I do when I’m at a restaurant, I’ll look at the menu, shortlist two or three options — and then when it’s time to order I just go rogue and pick something outlandish.

Years ago I used to read a book for the kids about a dog named Piper who felt sad. This photo makes me think of calling her “Piper”.

As a fan of Australian Gothic, maybe “Miranda” is a good name for a dog… i am sure she will run off a lot and I’ll have to call “Miraaaaandaaaah” all around the neighbourhood
