Im once again falling for Map Bait, but Nor Cal is Santa Cruz and up. Obviously not geographically, but it is more culturally Nor Cal than the rest of the central coast.

This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.

There’s a generational divide on repealing and replacing Obamacare. Those who were around for the failed attempts are uninterested. Those who weren’t, well, they want the GOP to have another go at it. www.thebulwark.com/p/republican...
The Obamacare Repeal Movement Is Dead. Long Live Obamacare Repeal.

Straight Gen Z men who spend all their money on sports gambling and Zyn are probably a lot more common than people who go by "Mx. [Last name]." But the NYT reporter didn't even bother to explore that and what their marriages are looking like (I'd imagine not that good either!)

Exploring marriage and divorce patterns for people under 30 is definitely a worthwhile assignment. I just think it could be done much, much better than this.

This piece is bad. The example in their lede isn't actually a marriage, just a couple who call themselves married but aren't in any legal or religious sense. The reporter also didn't speak to any men. Seems more like Gen Z trend piece rage bait than a genuine analysis www.nytimes.com/2025/09/27/s...

Pretending to be in session is not in session. We saw this Tuesday when dems all showed up to a pro forma session. The speaker decides when the chamber is in session.
cheetah.bsky.social
No there aren’t. New members are sworn in by the speaker. He could do it (and has before) during pro forma sessions but is refusing to here. He’s only required if the house is in session

That is not how it works

Mike Johnson just canceled votes for the 3rd week in a row. House hasn't voted since Sept. 19th. That means no work on shutdown and won't seat the AZ-7 congresswoman who would be the 218th and final Epstein files discharge petition signature.

I don't know how close we are to an interdict on JD Vance but certainly a lot closer than any American vice president has ever been
