A few years ago I was out thrift shopping and this woman came up to me out of nowhere and told me she noticed the semicolon tattoo on the back of my neck, that her son had one as well, and that she was so proud of me for being here still. It was so unexpectedly kind, I was WEEPING in the Savers.
