I’m finally trying the hourglass method (just made it up). Write without any break for 30 mins n then 5 minutes break, for straight 2 hours. Planning to stick to this schedule everyday till I get my first draft ready.

This is my struggle right now. I have so many ideas in engineering which takes me a month or two of effort to complete. Writing needs more. So i keep postponing. I mean it keeps getting postponed

Writing a book is psychologically so different from a paper or shorter-form writing. You have to wake up every day believing that this is the most important thing you could be working on. Otherwise it will keep getting sidelined in favor of projects with more immediate deadlines, and never get done.

Man I hope this platform stays politically neutral or there should be ways to mute entire politics section. I moved from twitter to here to avoid all that shit. Hoping to see posts only about math,AI n fiction writing.

OpenAI has gotten better with its text to image generation. Heard their text to video is still nascent. I keep trying concept arts for my WIP every now n then. Liked what ChatGPT did few days back. Wanted more expressive faces but this is still good.

Okay I’m not surprised. Just read that Arthur Conan Doyle n Bram stoker attended the same parties as Oscar Wilde n knew him well enuf to base their protagonists on him. Sherlock Holmes n Count Dracula draw their eccentricities from an equally eccentric man
