The character started from a short side campaign my main group did to hold over since one guy was out of town for a while. We were participating in a fighting tournament held by a magical college, and were told to make flasher characters than normal.

I went for the Pact of Blade and Rogue levels to get the Cunning Actions. Both to give a new way of playing a warlock in order to not just Eldritch Blast every turn.

It terms of you thinking it needed to be longer, from what I hear a full action scene of them fighting a mad scientist with bio-morphed ape minions was cut. Only shown in the opening montage.
