In my days, we raised the dead the right way. Dead of night, black roosters, elaborate blood pentagrams, sinister candles ... none of that soy boy LLM necromancy shit

Ah yes, the rich who, of course, notoriously don't fall under the "those who take" category

Feels like a big problem of society is all the angry guys who ain't clever enough to understand the real target their anger should be directed at.

Someone should do an insanely researched, in depth podcast about these weirdos

Officials are probably keen to avoid creating bench and heaters problems on top of the trolley problem.

The thought experiments budget is already thin as it is

Le dangereux groupe d’assassins au coeur du club des cent est bien connu: personne n’échappe à Claude, François, Mick, Annie, et bien sûr le féroce Dagobert

Anyone defending Google today is likely a time traveller from the 90s.

Just humour them until they tell you where the Delorean is, then knock them out and use the car to go have adventures in the 1800s or something

The real thrill is playing with no straps and knowing you are always one mistake away of embedding a wiimote into a wall

I like Cory Doctorow's take on this. Change your individual consumption if it makes you feel better, but be aware this likely won't do nothing for the big picture.

You want to make big companies less evil, you are going to need policy

Ye, hopefully after we've kicked the current crop of tech CEO's asses, we can go back to a dynamic where tech is exciting and useful rather than "we've put AI in your butt so you can ask it questions"

I think we tend to forget that many of the pieces we look today as High Art, whatever the medium, were a variation of "as an artist, I gotta eat, and this dude will pay for a portrait of his wife"

Game got me at « We joke. We laugh. We suppress our trauma. ».

Line if funny, but delivery is so perfectly on point someone should write a goddamn PHD on it

Crowd going wild at the human penguin got me cackling

Having to schedule international calls for job search purposes, I've reached the conclusion that many humans have difficulties with the concept

Imma take the opportunity to mention one of my favourite books: Hench by Walschots, in case anybody needs a fix of super hero workplace shenanigans while waiting for the rest of Dispatch to be released

how about we pass a law to saying private equities can only own police departments?

We can still do the trials down the line, of course

Look up Réunion island's Madame Desbassayns at some point, 19th century girl boss plantation owner

Oral tradition on how she treated her slaves is the shit of nightmares. Local legends say she was put in the volcano to be whipped by the devil, and this is why the damn thing erupts all the time

One of those job simulator things, set in Newcastle at the height of its shipbuilding / weapon manufacturing power in the 19th, early 20th century would be pretty interesting, and there’d be room to tell very cool stories

Specially trained museum guards with blowgun and exceptionally potent sleep darts, maybe?

I absolutely agree with you that executives should be paid less, but I don't think it would be enough to make a meaningful difference for workers in some big gaming companies in terms of salaries

That said, never seen a full big publisher payroll sheet, so I may be way off mark there

I genuinely am not sure.

Ubi's CEO makes, what, 2 or 3 millions per year? That'd be an extra 100 to 200 / year for each of the 20k employees.

An (improbable) scenario where games cost 100 and the extra money actually somehow actually goes to the creatives who make them, that's a big difference
