I'd give you info on the book but I'm honestly not comfortable because that's literally my family's information... he's been in interviews and there is pictures of him etc. I'd rather not risk it.
Also, I might not have all the details on the publishing correct but that's the gist of it.

I agree, they fulfilled their contract but yeah, it's shameful still.

The publisher is Dotbooks, a German e-book publisher. I just looked over their other covers and I spotted a couple that are likely AI... tho I thought the one if my mom's bf's book was extremely obvious.

Correction tho: his publishing house gave an e-book publisher the rights to put the books in their shop, and they did the new covers for two books. One is 100% AI, the other one is hard to tell imo. So it wasn't his original publisher, but one that exclusively does e-books.

He did approve it. He didn't know it was AI until I pointed it out to him and when he asked them about it, they refused to change it.
The e-book thing was some sort of promotional campaign for some of his older books that aren't in running prints anymore.
