Participated in a Quick Paint plein air event at a local Arboretum and Botanical Garden yesterday. Completed and Framed in 3 hours.

Gonna be a long night. Flynn had major surgery today to remove a large tumor near the base of his tail… it was starting to interfere with his pooper. He’s in a crate recovering. So I’m sleeping on the floor next to him tonight.

Also… my corn is knee high by the 4th of July. And only because we’ve managed to keep the deer out of it with a load of tripping hazards.

Each time I brood up a batch, they get named for characters in a sci fi series.

This is Starbuck… she’s a Brown Leghorn. She’ll lay a lot of white eggs. I had a Brown Leghorn in the first batch of chicks we got… Her name was Zoe, and she was a really neat chicken.

I just order 6 new baby chicks to renew my aging flock. Three Blue laced Red Wyandottes, a Brown Leghorn, a Speckled Sussex, and an Olive Egger (which may or may not look like the one in the pic).

Burned off the weeds, removed the old weed barrier, tilled everything, regraded, sowed up a big block of sweetcorn.

Hung some solar lights, picked up a half ton of English Garden Pavers, put in a nice little mud free floor in the hoop house.
