Collectively, I have spent a couple of years of my life working on stillborn ideas. Maybe closer to 10, actually.

I don’t think one can be taught this, honestly. One needs to go through this experience once or a couple of times themselves to learn. There’s no way around it.

The longer you disillusion yourself thinking that a new feature or a redesign will miraculously pay off all the hard work and make you a milionaire overnight, the harder the fall will be at the end.

Surely it doesn’t always work like I pictured but focusing on getting people to use it from the very first second saves months, if not years, of time. And it feels light. You try, you fail fast, you move on without hard feelings.

Not everything’s about the money but it better make some decent money. If you don’t, chances are you will get severely burned out at some point—investing all that hard work and not seeing any feasible outcome.
