We had to take out two safety demonstration projects yesterday for the Winter. I hope folks don't die before Indy DPW gets traffic calming in place.

I took the Red line down to Raymond St today and back.
The bus fare inspectors thing is weird. I'm white, and I just get on and off the bus.
Every non-white person gets asked to verify their bus pass. I've got my MyPass app ready to show, but I don't even get asked.

Only kid in the park this rainy cool afternoon. She's not made of sugar (my niece).
Perhaps the rest of the neighborhood is raising wimps.
She also tried falafel and stuffed grape leaves for lunch!

I tested it twice. As a white guy on a bike and then as a group of three white guys on bikes. No one said anything to us.

Ain't it wild? No benches. Very few trees. Uninterupted center turn lane with no center median for crossing pedestrians or center of street shade trees.
There's a BRVA master plan meeting on Tues, Oct 7th, at the Broad Ripple Arts Center, 6:30 pm. We need more good folks there to say WTF?

That's the one with the building snug up against the narrow sidewalk on the SW corner. Cars don't see crossing bikes and people walking from the south until the last second. This would be a great place for a speed table and center median island to bring down car speeds.

Interesting that Fairfield Ave had a streetcar.
Right now, Google Maps shows it as having a bike lane, which it doesn't.
That corridor is overly wide, needs a road diet, and some more street trees.

Needs to visualize the future where we're space bopping in planetary Civics and zipping around the Moon on Motocompactos. Thank you Honda for this dreamspace. Hopefully we manage to maintain civil society for a little bit longer.

On the theme of Indy hit & runs, a drunk driver just (1) took out a parking & stop sign, (2) smashed into a parked SUV, & (3) hit a tree in front of the Methodist Church. They somehow managed to turn left onto Guilford & drive off.
Security cop at the apt construction site didn't even snap a photo.
