I've been wanting to see a boxing story like this for so long and this delivered. So much raw emotion and power behind the fights and meaning in them. A really wonderfully developed character in Joe.
But also good god this might be the most depressing thing I've read in a while lmao

there's something really cool about seeing some of the old watercolor art for mons that didn't get updated next to new more modern art, great timepiece for the series.

We get a pretty engaging completely original character who never feels too out of place with the rest of the cast, and a lot of interesting deviations from the expected norm of Pokémon while keeping the core themes. Most of all I love how creative battles get here.

I was surprised out how fast everything went by, but a creative and very standout take on the classic Kanto story while still maintaining a lot of the heart of the Pokémon series. Very impressed with how much they got out of a relatively simple story here.

It took a while for this season to really start sticking to me, but it ended off on some of the most meaningful episodes the show has ever produced. Ash vs. Yugi means more to me than I can really put into words right now. Just, thank you, Death Battle, thank you for this.

Idk much on DoA, but you can really tell how much this would go on to influence RWBY with how it's choreographed. For being made by one guy essentially, incredibly well animated and dynamic. Had a sort of Subspace Emissary vibe to it almost. I would've liked seeing the end product.

A nice little side story that expands upon the world of Soul Eater and does some neat things with its own cast. It's always nice to see familiar faces return, but they never take up all the focus either. It's short and sweet, and also very yuri. A decent read if you need more SE.

A cute and fun set of side stories that give you little morsels of the characters, and have a lot of surprisingly sweet moments that build upon the characters and their dynamics in way that you can't really do in the show.
Also maybe the most yuri thing in this franchise.

I was a fan of the anime in my teens, so it was cool to see the manga captured those feelings still and was a somewhat fresh experience all on its own, was nice to finally properly revisit and reexamine the series and grow new appreciation for it after all this time. Great time

A cool story that delves into the psychosis of being a Ghost Rider and the strain it puts on the human behind it, very cool visuals and a lot of neat progression for Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch alike. A good quick read
But oh BROTHER get this dude Punisher outta here.

Omits a lot of things I liked from RWBY or tones them down a lot (where was Nora?) and just goes through the motions. It's just the first two volumes so at that point just watch them instead they are really short.
Whoever wrote this was SERIOUSLY rooting for WhiteRose tho

Really artful piece that not only has a lot to say about the world of filmmaking and movies as a whole (a subject I am very passionate about) but a lot to say on the concept of death and remembrance of those who passed. Really soulful work, maybe I've underestimated Fujimoto too much

I came for the hype moments and whatnot, but stayed for the genuinely really touching story with a lot of heartfelt moments and really good action. Blade might just actually be my favorite Marvel guy thanks to this really showing the tragedy behind the hype.
But very hype.
