Many (white-tailed) deer seen in walk through town/neighbourhoods to the Co-op (grocer's). On the way there, a boy and his (hoped for) harem; on way home, just the girls being naughty by nibbling rose bushes.

4 of the 6-7 deer seen first seen. in empty grassy-weedy lot in neighbourhood. mature trees, some changing to red. in center, behind post of a stop sign is the male, with antlers, and intent on one of females. others nibbling and nearest one looking at me. 5 female whte-tailed deer nibbling on shrubs including roses between paved street littered with leaves and a circa 1900s well-cared-for two story blue house. a 'no parking' sign can be seen next to 2 of left-most deer

After yesterday's (welcome) rain, I walked. At one point I caught a glimpse of a strange movement in a backed-up gutter at a street corner.

Upon closer inspection, it was a tiny frog (1"/3cm) clinging to a fallen leaf.

And here is Jezebel who is brilliant, communicative, rather possessive, and sports the most magnificent whiskers.

Bert Bunny sends earnest greetings!
A very small cottontail rabbit in pale shades of grays and browns sits in very large (2.5 ft. diam.?) plant saucer that was repurposed to catch seeds from birdfeeder above (not visible). Behind are fallen needles from pine plus old and worn wooden wheelbarrow with rusting wheel. Bunny is alert and large black(?) eye is watching! Ears are alert and swivelling to catch any nearby disturbance.

I'm just catching up on the #rabbitrabbit thing, but serendipitously, we've recently met a small fella who's spending time in our back garden of late, and who explored our (outbuilding) studio briefly, just yesterday. This is Bert
sitting still atop old linoleum tile in shades of sage is a Mountain Cottontail rabbit, a young one not larger than a quart jar, with shiny alert black eye and a coat of browns and grays. Not visible (they're sitting on it) is the white "cotton ball" tail that gives it its name.
