Passing the blessings of this butterfly who visited my garden onto you!
A gorgeous orange butterfly with some white spots among the black veining on their wings stops on a bright magenta zinnia for a little snack. The same orange butterfly with black and white patterning haha closed wings to give a better view of its stained glass-type coloration.

Ze (sweet) potats! Much fewer than I had expected, although they are from a Stokes purple I propagated so it wouldn't surprise me if there is a particular trick to growing them 🥲.

Next year I'll order potato slips from a seed company, or propogate from unnamed organic store sweet potatoes 😂.
Six or so purple sweet potatoes are placed on a speckled patio. Only four of the six are decent eating size. Two green gardening gloves, definitely showing the dirt of use, are placed beside and above the tubers for size comparison.

The kiwano melons are comingggg! One of my favorite fruits despite the perpetual threat of being stabbed by basically any part of the plant.
A plant vine covered in sharp hairy spines, with two small fruits beginning to form at one section. The green, spined fruits still have yellow flowers at their tips.

Small post-vacation garden harvest!

drinking normally. Subq fluids are probably going to be at least weekly, and I think as long as we can get her to eat some of the prescription kidney food every day she'll start feeling better.

I also finally have a single tomato! I have no idea if this one grew as a result of using blooming/fruiting spray so...additional tests ongoing 😆.

Garden update: woke up security.
A small anole clinging, face-down, onto a wilting corn stalk. The anole has changed its color to a muted brownish green to blend in. If you look close you can see its teeny tiny back toes somehow clinging to sheafs branching from the stalk.

Honestly a big part of my daily joy is going out to the garden and playing "find the anole".
A green anole trying to blend in with the dying corn stalk it's perched on. Success rate: 4 out of 10. A green anole on a corn leaf (husk?) hiding beneath a much larger cucumber leaf. Success rate: 8 out of 10. A green anole who changed color to a darker, burnt sort of brownish green to blend in with the corn stalk it attempts to hide on. Success rate: 5 out of 10. A bright green anole clinging to the green part of a corn shoot bordered by cucumber and bean plants. Success rate: 2 out of 10.

Turned the cucumbers I harvested this week into 오이 무침! Chilling now so I can taste-test later 😋.
