The advantage of building 3D worlds properly, even if they're only used for a single image, is that they can easily be used for animations. However, perfecting every detail is an entirely different challenge. This is from my 'Domes in Space' series. #b3d #space #scifi #art

This is a dreamier take on my 'Domes in Space' series. Darker and designed to be non-distracting - a perfect desktop background.

This shows the botanical domes of my ship as it uses a gravity assist from a ringed planet.

Own work. Trees/Birds from BlenderKit.

Posting older work is always a challenge. I can’t help but think about how I’d do things differently now. But back then, it felt right, so I resist the urge to change it and leave it as it is.

Done in #blender, 2023. Own work, background: NASA.

Test Render Saturday! I experimented with something some months ago and ended up with this image on my hard drive. I probably won’t revisit it, so here it is, just as it is.

Pure #blender, no external postprocessing.
Own work, no AI. #b3d #space #scifi #art

The botanical domes from my last post take shape in these vast assembly halls. While robots do most of the work, the final touch is always in human hands.

Pure #Blender, no external post-processing.
Own work. Some modified assets from BlenderKit. No AI.

Some images feel like scraps from other projects, and they are not good enough for release. This one (left) became my desktop background and grew on me. It’s calm and invites daydreaming. I’m reworking it to improve the quality, but it’s not there yet. (right)

A new sci-fi image -- pure #Blender/Cycles. Own work. No AI.

After lifting everything into orbit, they started the construction of a huge mining rig. They wanted to reach an asteroid for metal extraction, a far more efficient method than grappling with Earth's gravity for resources.

A colonized ice planet surrounded by majestic rings. I can only imagine the mesmerizing sight of those rings against the crystal-clear skies. However, I'm not so keen on the frigid temperatures ❄️ #Art #Science #ScienceFiction for the moment, but the future is open.
