I am drafting a real banger of a post for Chibi Writer about the "just learn to write" perspective against AI tools. It's gonna be a good one -- and even-headed. No crazy emotional outbursts. Just my perspective on the matter.

Let's see if you'll agree: writer.chibi.ai

Or agree to disagree?

Look, most AI content is painfully mediocre (you know exactly what I mean). Let's make AI your creative partner, not your ghostwriter. Because you're here to create something that actually matters. Cl...

Why Your AI Complaints Might Be Your Secret Weapon
What if I told you the very thing driving you crazy about AI could be your golden ticket to better content?

Is this eye-opening to you?

The anti-AI crowd sure makes a lot of noise online, but here's the truth: most people are quietly figuring out how to use AI to do meaningful work. They're too busy creating to waste time virtue signaling.

The future isn't binary. It's not about writers vs. non-writers.

I just read Paul Graham’s prediction that AI will create this stark divide between writers and "write-nots" – and honestly? I couldn't disagree more.

You want to know what real writing is? It's whatever gets your truth onto the page. Period.

Whether you're using a pencil, a keyboard, or yes, even AI – if you're putting your thoughts, your experiences, your unique perspective out into the world, you're writing.

I need to get something off my chest. And maybe you'll hate me for saying this, but fuck it – we need to talk about this whole "AI writing isn't real writing" bullshit that keeps floating around. writer.chibi.ai/p/why-most-p...

Serendipity.

Probably the most powerful reason to use AI while writing.

Can we get a "show a LOT less like this" button?

This might sound strange. But Path of Exile (especially PoE 2) is inspiring me for ways I may change Chibi AI in the future.

LOVE GGG’s (Grinding Gear Games) focus on their community. Which is a focus of ours since day one. We literally launched the Chibi Community at the same time as the app.

I think this turned out quite well.

Going for an old 50's 60's Bill Bernbach style ad vibe, but for Chibi AI.

Used Google Gemini 1.5 Flash-8B and OpenAI GPT-4o Mini. Of course, with edits and such by me. #human+AI is the way.

Actually kind of proud how this text formatting UI turned out.

Nice, compact, and each option is relatively close to the click that opens it for smooth use.

You can #write with AI. You don't have to let it write for you.

Just thought of an interesting use case in Chibi AI.

Create your own BS detector?

Today I was asked what makes Chibi so awesome?

I’m pro human+AI.

With the way LLMs seem to be heading, the real differentiator will be in how effectively we can use AI combined with our own effort, experiences, knowledge, etc.

I feels so good being back to experimental writing and trying new things using AI (as apposed to coding/development).

I know many are against using AI, but I find it fascinating the various things my AI co-writer and I can come up with that I likely would never have on my own.

Getting AI to help you convey emotion can be a challenge (heck, it can be difficult to express one's emotions to another person even). Here's a passage from my upcoming book (tentatively titled "Translating Felt Experience into Actionable Guidance").

I work with writers to showcase that using AI in writing isn't just what everyone immediately thinks.

Sure, one could try to generate whole stories... but human+AI is the way.

Use it here and there. Craft your own reusable tools that help you with certain tasks you find yourself doing frequently.

Writers can use AI in different ways. I personally prefer things like planning, editing, and analyzing, rather than the actual content creation part.

I think many hear "AI writing" and instantly think of those apps churning out endless amounts of massively mediocre content.

That's not what we do.

The start of something beautifully helpful when creating content with AI.

❓ Writers: If AI helps you brainstorm, outline, and edit - but you keep creative control - is it any different from using spell check and grammar tools?
