Winter can be tough. The cold, the darkness, and the isolation can weigh heavy, making it tempting to reach for old coping mechanisms. But remember this: **you are stronger than your cravings, and your sobriety is worth it.** 💪✨

I'm all for harm reduction, but if you must twist yourself into a knot, read books, titrate your drinks, find yourself drinking more than you intended, etc. You may have a problem being soberish can't help.

Almost 3 years sober! Every day is a victory, but there's something special about these milestones. They remind us how far we've come and inspire us to keep going.

Whether you're on day 1 or year 20, your journey matters, what's a recent milestone you're proud of?

Not a controversial opinion

You can recover from your addiction.

You just need the right support and the right program and those things take time to find.

If you need guidance, I’m here to help

Controversial recovery opinion (but shouldn’t be)

Your average sponsor from a 12 step program isn’t a qualified life coach, family therapist, therapist or career coach.

🤯

Another controversial opinion that shouldn’t actually be controversial.

You don’t need the 12 Steps or 12 Step programs to get sober.

From Dr Sarah Wakeman, article on harm reduction and MAT approaches to treatment. Addiction treatment best serves clients from a person-centered approach

“Most of all, we need to stop thinking that people with addiction are unable to be involved in their own treatment. “

Controversial opinion

You can recover from alcoholism. You don’t have to live in a constant state of recovery.

Once you have gotten through the challenges of early recovery and moved beyond not drinking doesn’t have to be a lot of work.

In my sobriety, manifestation is not just thinking good things happen but making them real from hard work.

To start:
1. Visualize goals clearly
2. Write positive affirmations
3. Take consistent action
4. Practice gratitude
5. Get consistent support
6. Align thoughts and actions to create change.
