We have a public meeting scheduled for December 17th at the Elmwood Community Center in West Hartford, where the community will have the opportunity to meet with legislators, request legislative reports, and have HB 6361 heard in a public hearing during the 2026 legislative session.

This public meeting is being called by people directly impacted by Connecticut’s probation system. People from neighborhoods across the state will meet with legislators to formally request a Public Hearing and legislative reports on House Bill 6361.

Probation was designed to be an alternative to incarceration. Still, it has become a direct pathway into the prison system, creating an endless cycle of supervision and incarceration, while acting as a barrier to resources such as food insecurity.
